Hello family,
Everything here it´s going great. However, it is very different from what we do at home. In Jonas house every single thing has a rule to follow.Even at what age you are supposed to get a bike. When I arrived we had a feeling conversation. Everyone exposed how they felt and tried to solve it if it was a bad feeling. I felt strange. I´m not used to doing this. I miss you.
Kisses,
Lucía

Hi mom!
Today I was invited to Jonas' house and it was kind of weird. At first we were only going to do homework, but then his mom arrived and invited me to have dinner. I also met his little sister. I realized that his parents overstate the age of people because they asked me about a ceremony of 12 years old or something several times, even though I didn't know nothing about it. I didn't want to say it but I have to confess that his parents are very boring and they aren't like a couple, there isn't passion bewetween them! We had to do a telling of feelings...So weird... I will tell you more at home. Kisses,
María

Hi mom,
I'm already on my way home from Jonas' house. Just wanted to let you know I'm ok. It was, well, quite an experience. I always knew he was a bit special, different… But today I got to meet his whole family and I understood. His family is just so strict about every single thing you could imagine! I focused on enjoying the time I was spending with Jonas though, so we didn't get the chance to talk much. Except for the fact that when we arrived there they asked me to do a 'telling of feelings' with them in which we had to expose our feelings and thoughts and give our opinion about them. Guess each family has its own methods of getting to know other people. However, when they did talk I got to notice something particular about them. Their vocabulary. It is so formal! Their relationship seems to be very cold-hearted. There were some awkward situations but I got through them. See you and dad real soon!
Hugs,
Raquel

Hi mum,
I just left Jonas´house. To be honest, the sleepover was quite strange and peculiar. I never realised what a weird boy Jonas is. And his family too! The house was very cold due to the fact that there were no family photos, drawing made by Jonas and his littles sister... In addition, his family wouldn't speak to each other until it was dinner time. While we were having dinner, each one of us got the opportunity to explain what his/her feelings had been during the day. And I did it too! I really liked it, but when the dinner was over, each member of the family spread to a different part of the house and didn't speak to each other anymore. It seemed his parents didn´t love each other. They didn't show any kind of affection.
I'll tell you more about it when I arrive home.
Love you,
Ángela.

Hello family!
I'm on my way home. I've spent a few days with Jonas and his family. They have been very nice and they have cared for me at all times.Despite of it has been a different situation, I have enjoyed it a lot.The community of Jonas is very distinct from us.There are rules for everything, for example, they have a specific age to start riding a bicycle. All the things have a control. They have different routines. One of them is the 'telling of feelings'.In that routine, one by one have to say how they feel while the other members of their family listen to him and then they try to advise him.It is a good way to feel closer and have more confidence with your family.I liked meeting Jonas's family, I had a great time so, I hope to come back soon!

Kisses,
Eva

Hi mum!
The first 5 days in New York were a bit difficult and I'm going to explain you why .The first day a met Jonas the first because was the person that was at home,he started to tell me about my room , the routines and the members of the family I felt very comfortable with he but when his fathers entered at home with his little sister they started to sclod him for not offering me anything, for receiving me with the pijama on and for not saying good afternoon to them .The second day the family wanted to do their best routine called 'telling of feelings' which consisted in saying what we think about each other and how we feel , and you know mum , that I'm a very sincere person , so I said the truth , I think that Jona's fathers are too strict and very formal then they took it in a little bad way and now they don't speak to me I only speak with Jonas and his sister but it is an uncomfortable situation . I wil try to think positive to finish the week enjoying my travel and return to home.
Kisses
Pd: New York is so beautiful I'll buy you a present

Hi, mum!
Spending this weekend in Jonas' community is turning out to be a very good experience! Yesterday he asked his mother to write an “apology” for his teacher as he wanted to show me the community. We took our bikes and he started telling me the rules that they have to follow (which, by the way, are very strict and some are strange). Then we went past all the buildings one by one and he explained to me what “assignments” were done in each building. I guess that with the word assignment he means job, because he told me that there are landscape workers, street cleaners, nurturers and a lot more. Did you know that they don’t have to cook anything? There are food delivery people that give them the food in a tray every meal. And it seems they are vegetarian or something, because I haven’t seen any animals at all. I have only seen a stuffed elephant and a hippo, at their house, and they say they are imaginary creatures! I haven’t asked them about this because Jonas told me that asking about something that is different is rude. Also, I have to be very careful with what I say, because in their community, precision of language is very important…
I have to go now, Jonas is waiting for me to go meet their friends.
Talk to you soon,
Noemi

Hi dad,
as you know, I´ve been invited by my friend Jonas to pass a week on his house and to meet his surroundings. Well, for being honest, by the pass of the time, I was feeling more and more awkward and I was willing to leave. The thing is that their routines are very different from our routines. I mean, they have to follow very strict rules and the education system is too weird. I was surprised because they weren´t in the need of cooking, there was a kind of delivery food system and they were vegans or something, because there was not anything related with animals in the daily menu.Even though I was supposed to have a great time with Jonas, I felt so unconfortable. It is not Jonas fault, he is a great friend, but his parents and his sister were so unpleasant with me. But well, I thank god I´ve already left. I´ll go home in half a week, until then I´ll do some sightseeing around the city.

Best regards,
Juan.

Hello little sister,

I've just left Jonas house. It was too strange this experience. I'm going to explain to you why. The first thing I do was the evening telling of feeling. This is a routine that every family does, they expose their feeling to the other members of the family. In our case, if we do that at home, it will be a chaos, don't you think? After that Jonas told me the rules they have, they have rules for everything. Also, something too weird that Jonas told me, it was that the children could only start riding a bike at the age of 9. If we had to wait until we were nine for riding a bike, we would have broken that rule like at the age of six. This city has very extreme rules, and we don't like the ones in our house, so poor Jonas that have to follow all that crazy rules.

I will tell you more when I arrive home.

Kisses Carmen

Hi family!
I'm just on the bus returning from Jona's home and I was thinking about all the differences I have seen between his life and ours. Firt of all they are really controlled by the Committee, they are observing them through cameras and if they unfollowed any rule, there was a speaker that tolds them that what they were doing was wrong, I felt really uncomfortable about it because I felt observed.

Then, they are known as if they were numbers until they are twelve when they make a 'ceremony'( after it people even foget about how old are they!) at it the Committe told them on what are they going to work in the future based on their skills, Jonas was super nervous about it. Imagine that we did that on city!
The thing that I liked the most was that every evening all the family met and started telling their feelings and if they had any bad one they all tried to solve it! For me was a bit strange but I love that idea.
I will be at home in a few hours and I want to tell you everything, but Jonas was really kind and I loved his family.
See you later!!
ERIKA

Dear family,
I will be in home soon, the family of Jonas are treating me very good. At first they seem to be a little weird, but later they seem to be nice people. They do different things from us, for example, when we were at dinner time they started to say their feelings about what happened to them that day. I said that i feel really happy and excited of being with them. Yesterday, Jonas made me meet his friends. I met jonas best friend, Asher. He is such a really funny person and very extrovert, I really had a great time with them. I'm going to be here two days more as you now.
Love and kisses
Miguel
