WORKING WITH STEREOTYPES.

Stereotypes are generalizations that people make about the characteristics of all members of a group. These generalizations are based on a image that is not always real. Whenever there is a problem we tend to define people according to these stereotypes which means we are not being very objective. In general stereotypes bring negative connotations and we have to be very careful with the way we use them. They can be good to define some aspects of a group or a person but that´s all. We should be able to make out what is real from what it is not...

This is what it is said about us... Do you agree?Spaniards are lazy; party animals; womanizers; food lovers (Paella); extroverted; untidy; conscientious; impulsive; megalomaniac; bull fighters; always late; “know how to live”; wine-drinking and ham-eating; temperamental; affectionate; look like Antonio Banderas; emotional cry-babies; sophisticated; everybody smokes and talks all the time; proud and patriotic; fashionable, love to dance; relaxed; nationalists; cultured; respect their rights and duties; history and ancestry are important; leisure culture; open-minded and warm people;
